Ultra-Dense, Cost-effective SAS/SATA JBOD Expansion

The DataON DNS-1660 Ultra-Dense 6 Gb/s SAS/SATA JBOD solution enables massive data capacity applications, at a price/performance point per Gigabyte (GB) that meets your fast-moving business requirements. Besides functioning as a standalone external direct attached storage (DAS) JBOD for standard serial attached SCSI (SAS) host connect, With up to 60 3.5” form factor SAS and/or SATA Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) per 4U enclosure, the industry-unique DNS-1660 is an ultra-dense, space and power savings solution.

The DataON DNS-1660 fits nicely into a standard 19” wide, 1m long, 42U rack that easily creates a 30TB/U (w/ 2TB SATA HDDs) data expansion building block that can be zoned to up to four different DAS Hosts. Additional DNS-1660 JBODs can be daisy chained to support deeper storage pools as supported by industry standard SAS HBAs and SAS RAID HBAs

Host/expansion Interfaces

  • One or two SAS JBOD I/O controller modules per system, with each I/O module supporting four 6Gb/sec SAS SFF-8088 connections
    • 6Gb/sec SAS SFF-8088 connections can be used for host connections or as a combination of host connection and expansion and support up to 2,400 MB/sec bandwidth
    • Daisy chaining of enclosures for overall number of drives will most likely be limited by the specific qualified SAS HBA or SAS RAID HBA used in the configuration

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
